The  high performance qualities of Crown Trade Steracryl Mould Inhibiting Matt paint  are helping to protect an historic venue in its day-to-day  operations.   Applied  at Wrightington Conference Centre – part of Wrightington Hospital - the premium  product has been used on the ceiling within the Long Drawing Room, along with  Crown Trade Eggshell on the ornate friese, and Crown Trade Acrylic Eggshell on  the coving.   Crown  Paints’ Colour Service drew up a sensitive palette of shades using the three  paints, in-keeping with the building’s 18th Century heritage, based on gentle golds,  blues and creams.
 Gary  Wilkes is the team manager for the estates office at Wrightington Hospital, part  of the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. He said: “The three  paints have been exactly what we needed for the Long Drawing  Room.
 “The  room is used to host conferences and there are coffee and tea making facilities  inside. Over time, the steam from the urn has risen and damaged the ceiling,  causing mould to appear.
 “The  application of Steracryl Mould Inhibiting Paint will prevent this from happening  again in the future.”   Pye  and Collier Decorators, based in Skelmersdale, have worked on the site for six  weeks transforming the building.
 Nigel  Pye, co-owner of the company, said: “We are thoroughly happy with the final  outcome.   “The  delicate detail around the edge of the ceiling meant certain parts had to be  spray painted, while the detailed decoration surrounding the chandeliers had to  be hand brushed.
“The paint was of a great quality to apply.”
Measuring up to the fungal testing procedures carried out to British Standard BS3900:G6, Crown Trade Steracryl Mould Inhibiting Paint – which is available in Acrylic Eggshell and Matt - has been rigorously assessed, to make the grade.
