Barrierfold Bi-Fold for Timber Doors
Hardware distributor VBH (GB) has added the Barrierfold hardware system for timber bi-folding doors to its range.
The top hung system, which was displayed at the recent Glassex exhibition, is capable of carrying doors of up to 90Kg, with a maximum sash size of 1000mm wide x 3300mm high.
Its slim-line hinge and wheel carriage components are brushed stainless steel, with durable nylon wheels for a smooth and quiet operation. Wheels and guides run in a concealed aluminium track and pvc-sleeved bottom guide channel.
The system provides adjustment at every hanger and pivot point, and the hinges are in-line across the whole face of the door.
Security is achieved through the new range of brass flush bolts. They are finished in attractive ‘satin nickel’ that contrasts well with all natural timber finishes and solid colours. The range includes locking and non-locking options, with an extended non-locking bolt for higher doors
Manufacturers can use their own locking system on the master leaf, or opt for the Barrierfold Hybrid stainless steel lock set (including cylinder), which provides security and +/-8mm lateral adjustment to allow for expansion and contraction.
Barrierfold becomes VBH’s latest bi-fold system and Marketing Manager Gary Gleeson states ‘We’re delighted to add Barrierfold to our existing Roto, Siegenia-Aubi and Vistafold products. It will be a firm favourite with timber manufacturers, and is an ideal product for those buyers who prefer a top hung system with adjustable butt hinges. We now have something for everyone.’
