The Linear Grid ‘Lingrid 1’ System
Façade specialist Ascolit has developed an innovative universal rainscreen system to give architects more aesthetic control and design freedom - and installers a simpler, more efficient process delivering consistent quality on site. The linear grid ‘Lingrid 1’ system is based on traditional hook-on rainscreen technology but engineered for simplicity and ease of adjustment. The unique panel carrier is fully adjustable and can be locked or unlocked easily. This innovation allows installation from any start-point which can even be carried out at random, while panels can be plumb and lined without removal and any damaged panels taken out without effecting surrounding panels. As a result, architects’ aesthetic intentions and detailing are consistently reflected in the finished façade. With Ascolit’s Lingrid 1, any shape and size of panel can be accommodated and mullions can be installed on any type of substrate or span floor-to-floor. As well as new-build projects, the system is also suitable for upgrading and can be adapted for over-cladding existing facades. All components are factory fabricated, minimising on-site work, and just two tools are needed to install the system on site.
