Building on its reputation for craftsmanship and high quality timber products, Black Millwork is launching a sleek new range of aluminium windows and doors.
Designed with a very contemporary aesthetic to suit both commercial and residential properties, the new range has been developed to meet the same high standards of quality, sustainability and energy efficiency as the company's more traditional range of timber and aluminum-clad products.
Manufactured using high specification Low E glazing and 90% argon gas fill, the well-engineered windows and doors deliver exceptional U-values as low as 0.6W/m2K – performing better than the Passivhaus standard of 0.8W/m2K.
Products available within the range include casement windows, tilt and turn windows, French doors, gliding doors and stunning lift and slide doors, which can be produced in extremely large sizes to create a striking architectural statement. All are available in a variety of RAL colours and bespoke shapes and sizes, with specialist glazing options such as patterned or coloured glass. Products are also available in double or triple glazed configurations, to ensure maximum thermal efficiency.
What’s more, as aluminium is so impervious to corrosion virtually no maintenance is required throughout the product’s extended life expectancy. Aluminium is also one of the most sustainable building materials available, as it can be recycled again and again without any loss in quality – indeed it’s been estimated that 75% of all the aluminium ever produced is still in use today.
Gary Hutton, General Manager at Black Millwork, commented: “Our reputation at Black Millwork is founded on our high quality, meticulously designed timber products, which are perfect for heritage or classically designed properties. However many of our customers have been asking for a more contemporary product, with aluminium frequently coming up in these conversations.
“We already had experience of manufacturing aluminium sliding doors and so we decided to apply this knowledge to our other product lines. Critically, the main focus was on quality, excellent workmanship and environmental performance, as it was essential to us that the new aluminium range delivered the same exacting standards that we achieve across our other products. We’re really pleased with the results and hope that our customers will be too.”
