Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has been appointed as a Supply Chain Partner on the Welsh Government’s ‘Designed for Life: Building for Wales 3’ National Framework.
This framework will run for four years with a two year extension option and covers NHS building projects in Wales with construction values of above £10 million, and is procured and managed by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership - Facilities Services (formerly Welsh Health Estates).
The ‘Designed for Life: Building for Wales 3’ appointment follows success in October 2011 for Interserve, appointed as a Supply Chain Partner on all three of the Welsh Government’s ‘Designed for Life: Building for Wales 2’ Regional Frameworks. These Regional Frameworks cover NHS building projects in Wales with construction values of between £4 million and £10 million, demonstrating the flexibility and benefits of the company’s long established regional and national structure.
Interserve Divisional Director Health, Andrew Jowett said: "This appointment is great news for all our team, enabling us to build upon our strong track record in healthcare infrastructure across the UK. It also represents a significant opportunity for Interserve to support the NHS in its challenge to deliver high quality, equitable and sustainable health services for Wales."
To be appointed as a Supply Chain Partner on both National and Regional Frameworks is a highly prestigious achievement for Interserve. It is testimony to the commonality of the Frameworks’ core principles and those of the company. These principles include providing best value for money; offering integrated supply chains, collaborative working, continual improvement, performance management, effective risk management, open book working, fair payment and sustainable development; together with ensuring that local communities benefit from work done.
The National and Regional Frameworks won by Interserve cover the whole of NHS Wales including Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, Aneurin Bevan Health Board, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Cwm Taf Health Board, Hywel Dda Health Board, Powys Teaching Health Board and Velindre NHS Trust.
The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust and Public Health Wales, which are organisations operating on a national basis, will also be able to draw down services for their projects.
