Pilkington Pyroclear has been given the seal of approval by Certifire, for use with steel and timber frames.
This standard certifies that the glass is accordance with the technical Schedule TS25 – Fire Resisting Glass, Glazing Systems and Glazing Materials.
Certifire is an independent third party certification scheme that assures performance, quality, reliability and traceability of fire protection products.
Recognised by regulatory authorities worldwide, it is an internationally respected mark of fire safety and one of the most authoritative in the industry.
Pilkington Pyroclear is recommended for use as a physical barrier against flames, smoke and fumes. For this reason, it is an ideal choice for doors, screens, skylights and roof glazing. Testing on Pilkington Pyroclear is ongoing; more recently achieving successful tests with various glazing gaskets which are commonly used within timber door industry.
Graham Ingle, Sales Manager, Clear Fire Protection said: “We are very proud that Pilkington Pyroclear has achieved this certification because it enables our customers to choose a product that carries the mark of a reputable third-party certification body which gives assurances as to the performance of the products.
"Pilkington Pyroclear is manufactured to high quality control standards, combining the best available expertise in both automotive and architectural premium glass processing. By using these products, the building owners responsible are providing a powerful demonstration that due diligences have been served.”
