The INCA 2011 Awards recognising innovation and excellence in external wall insulation (EWI) were presented at the 2011 INCA Conference & Exhibition on Wednesday 12 October at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. Structherm were pleased to win the award for their entry in the Domestic Refurbishment Low Rise category with the BISF Houses project in Preston. The award was presented to Structherm Managing Director, David Harrison and Adrian Bishop of Westdale Services by leading Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly . What the Judges said about the winning project… “ With the Green Deal coming into force in 2012, there is likely to be a huge increase in consumer demand for EWI and this project shows what can be achieved. Well done with a simple and effective balance of colours, these properties have overcome the technical difficulties to offer a more attractive and comfortable place to live which is of a similar standard to new build.” Structherm also had three out of the four shortlisted projects in the same category: • Bucknall Crescent, Birmingham • De Traffords, Manchester • Halewood, Liverpool More than 240 delegates from Local Authorities, Housing Associations, architects, consultants and contractors attended the conference to find out more about how EWI can improve the energy performance of UK homes and businesses. The event also included an exhibition of the latest EWI technology by INCA members and the launch of the new INCA website at www.inca-ltd.org.uk showcasing EWI as the ideal choice for new build and refurbishment projects in the non-residential and domestic sectors.
