VBH announces the arrival this spring of PAS24:2011, the new security door handle for timber, PVCu and aluminium entrance doors from handle manufacturer Hoppe.
The Secured By Design approved handle is designed to comply with recent changes to the PAS24 security standard that take into account attack by Mole-Grips.
PAS24:2011 is available in both short and long backplate patterns so suits all the multi-point door locks popular in the UK including those made by Millenco, Roto, Maco, KFV, GU, Fuhr, Paddock, and Yale etc. It is fitted with the popular 1710RH Tokyo levers and has the same fixing positions as standard long and short backplate Hoppe handles so upgrading is easy without the need to re-set machinery.
The solid aluminium backplate is specially shaped to resist Mole-Grip attack and features a revolving and extending cylinder cover to protect against cylinder extraction. The high tensile bottom fixing point provides added strength at a known point of attack and Hoppe’s Quick-fit lever fixing method provides a third anchor point on the handle set.
VBH advise that the strength and design of the backplate make the use of separate cylinder protection devices unnecessary.
