The world famous Cheltenham Racecourse is at the heart of jump racing. It’s where the most important races take place and where owners, trainers, jockeys, stable staff and breeders all dream of winning.
In March 2014, The Jockey Club named Kier Construction as the main contractor for its £45m grandstand development at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Appointed directly by Kier in August 2014, SureSet was chosen for the 3,755m² of permeable resin bound paving required for this prestigious project. SureSet worked closely with appointed architects Roberts Limbrick and Landscape Designer Illman Young to ensure all elements within the design sat in harmony together.
The extensive choice of colour and texture options of SureSet gives architects, landscapers, designers and developers the ability to either, perfectly complement or contrast adjoining areas.
Through their in-house Installation Team and network of Approved Installers, SureSet install both residential and commercial projects across the UK.
With support from SureSet Approved Installer, Pebbo, by the end of December approximately 2,555m² of 6mm Chocolate from SureSet’s range of Natural Aggregate has been installed, to the Plaza, the See You Then Terrace and Hurdler’s Hall (a bar area under the terrace). The remaining 1,200m² is due to be installed later this year and will finish off a new pathway still under construction.
Having been stored away for safe-keeping, the statue of Arkle now stands within the Plaza, and slabs containing horseshoes from the legendary Quevega (who in 2014 became the first horse to win six times at the Cheltenham Festival) will be installed in the SureSet paving in Hurdler’s Hall.
