Kingspan Insulation is pleased to announce that Kingspan GreenGuard GG300 boards now achieve a lower declared lambda value (thermal conductivity) of 0.033 W/mK (0.035 W/mK design thermal conductivity for inverted roof applications). This can allow project teams to achieve target U-values with slimmer constructions in specialist applications where insulation boards with high compressive strength are required.

The rigid extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation boards have minimal water absorption and are resistant to ground moisture penetration. These properties, alongside their compressive strength of 300 kPa (tested to BS EN 826: 2013), makes them suitable for a range of demanding applications including inverted roofs, basements, car park decks and heavy-duty flooring.
In addition to the lower lambda value, the boards are also now available in a 180 mm thickness. This enhanced thickness can reduce the number of layers of insulation that may be required for an application, supporting faster installations. The use of Kingspan GreenGuard GG300 in inverted roof, floor and basement applications (selected thicknesses) is covered by BBA Certificate 22/6048.
The popular XPS insulation range also includes Kingspan GreenGuard GG500 and GG700 which achieve compressive strengths of 500 kPa and 700 kPa respectively when tested to BS EN 826: 2013. BIM objects for all Kingspan GreenGuard products can be downloaded using the Kingspan BIM Designer Software Tool available at www.kingspaninsulation.co.uk.
To support best practice when installing any Kingspan GreenGuard products, Kingspan Insulation can offer free onsite Product Awareness training from qualified technical experts. These sessions cover all aspects of best practice including an overview of suitable applications, support with handling and storage and practical advice on sitework and detailing. Sessions can be organised by contacting: technicaladviceservice@kingspaninsulation.co.uk
Kingspan GreenGuard boards are produced on a specialist line with a 100% reclaimable polystyrene waste stream at Kingspan Insulation’s Selby (North Yorkshire) facility. The boards are manufactured under a management system certified to ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality management systems), ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management Systems), ISO 45001: 2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems), ISO 50001: 2018 (Energy management systems) and ISO 37301: 2021 (Compliance management systems).
