GftK’s vdw 850+ Paving Jointing Mortar has a unique formulation that prevents the separation and resin loss that occurs with inferior resin jointing products and leads to the contamination and staining of natural stone and porcelain paved surfaces - Even if the manufacturers and suppliers call it a temporary sheen. It still looks terrible and takes a lot of effort to clean, or a long time to ‘weather-off’, especially on lighter and more permeable and sensitive natural stone. The development of this 2nd-generation, water-dispersed epoxy technology, is exclusive to GftK in Germany, and this is used to precoat the spherical alluvial glacial sands, which are the fine ‘no-fines’ sand / aggregate component in their advanced products. This is what provides the optimum correlation of strengths (i.e. tensile, compressive and e-modulus), for the highest performance in application and service. This also provides the high flow characteristics and self-compacting capabilities, plus the high internal cohesion with the resin in the mix, which is what allows more water to be used without risk of separation and segregation, for the most efficient wet-slurry application. This is why it is ‘the wetter the better’ at the wet-slurry stage, to the extent that this could cause separation and loss of performance with the other epoxy paving jointing products on the market.
