The Rooflight Association will exhibit at FIT Show 2027, using the UK’s only exhibition representing the entire fenestration supply chain to promote higher standards in rooflight design, installation, compliance and ongoing performance.

Taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 18 - 20 May 2027, FIT Show will bring together professionals from across the fenestration, glass, glazing, roofing, construction and installation supply chains.

For The Rooflight Association, the event will provide an important opportunity to engage directly with rooflight and roof window installers, fabricators, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors, as well as architects, specifiers and key decision-makers across the public and private sectors.

Rooflights and roof windows play an important role in the modern built environment, supporting daylighting, energy efficiency, thermal performance, ventilation and occupant wellbeing. As building regulations continue to evolve, FIT Show 2027 will also take place at a crucial time for the sector, with the Future Homes Standard officially coming into force on 24 March 2027.

The Rooflight Association will use its presence at the show to help fabricators, installers and specifiers understand the changing regulatory landscape and make informed decisions about rooflight design, product selection and installation.

Visitors to the stand will have access to industry experts and member representatives, who will be available to offer clear, practical and impartial guidance on:

  • Regulatory compliance.
  • Rooflight safety.
  • Daylighting design.
  • Energy efficiency.
  • Product specification.
  • Installation challenges.
  • Technical performance.
  • Best practice across the supply chain.

The stand will also provide an opportunity for visitors to network with leading manufacturers and technical experts from the rooflight sector.

The Rooflight Association will use FIT Show 2027 to champion two key issues affecting the future of commercial and industrial rooflight design.

The first is “The Fight for Roof Space”. As demand for photovoltaic technology increases, rooflights and roof windows risk being pushed out of roof design in favour of solar panels. The Association believes this needs to be approached through a balanced, whole-roof strategy that considers daylight, energy generation, building performance and occupant wellbeing together.

The second is “Choose Laminated Inner Pane”, highlighting why the inner pane of a rooflight should always be laminated glass. The campaign will focus on safety, performance and the importance of making informed choices at the specification stage.

Mark Wilcox, Chair of The Rooflight Association, said: “As the UK construction sector strives to deliver better, smarter and more efficient buildings, the role of high-quality daylighting solutions is more important than ever. FIT Show 2027 provides The Rooflight Association with the perfect platform to engage directly with installers, fabricators, specifiers and manufacturers alike.

“We are looking forward to sharing our expertise, supporting the trade with clear technical guidance and driving the highest standards across the rooflighting sector throughout 2027 and beyond.”

The Rooflight Association is the trusted voice of the UK’s rooflight industry, supporting quality, safety, compliance and sustainability. Its vision is to create a well-regulated and highly skilled market in which rooflights and roof windows meet the highest performance standards and are installed, maintained and replaced responsibly.

Over the next 12–18 months, the Association will focus on expanding its training programme, instilling best practice across the supply chain and championing appropriate updates to building regulations.

FIT Show 2027 will be a flagship opportunity to support those objectives by bringing the Association directly into conversation with the professionals responsible for designing, specifying, manufacturing, installing and maintaining rooflight systems.

By engaging with the industry face to face, The Rooflight Association aims to raise awareness of its work, grow membership, strengthen collaboration and reinforce its position as the go-to authority for rooflight and daylighting knowledge.

Nickie West, Event Director at FIT Show, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Rooflight Association to FIT Show 2027. Its expertise will be highly valuable to the installers, fabricators, manufacturers, architects and specifiers attending the event.

“With regulation, competence, energy performance and safety all central to the future of construction, FIT Show provides an important platform for the Association to share practical guidance and engage directly with the people making decisions across the supply chain.

“The Rooflight Association’s focus on balancing daylighting with the growing demand for solar PV, while championing the use of laminated inner panes, will add real value to the conversations taking place at the show.”

The Rooflight Association will be exhibiting at FIT Show 2027 at the NEC Birmingham from 18 - 20 May 2027. Visitors can meet the Association’s representatives, discuss technical and regulatory questions, explore membership opportunities and find out more about its training, guidance and best-practice initiatives.
