‘Future ready. Quality first.’: NHBC reveals theme for BEYOND ’27 LIVE

The challenge of increasing housing delivery while maintaining quality will be at the heart of BEYOND ’27 LIVE, as the home-building industry prepares for new standards, changing customer expectations and the transition to lower-carbon homes.

Returning for a third year under the theme ‘Future ready. Quality first.’, BEYOND ’27 LIVE will focus on how the sector can turn policy and ambition into practical delivery.

Hosted by the National House Building Council (NHBC), the event will take place on 4 March 2027 at the CBS Arena, Coventry, with more than 1,500 attendees, 35 speakers and 40 exhibitors expected.

Four dedicated stages will examine the issues shaping home building, including market conditions and housing delivery, construction quality, customer expectations and competence, and implementation of the Future Homes Standard at scale.

Paul Turner, Chief Executive Officer at NHBC, said: “The industry faces the challenge of delivering more homes while continuing to raise standards and embrace new technologies and ways of building. Increasing housing delivery cannot come at the expense of quality.

“BEYOND ’27 LIVE will bring the industry together to learn from experts and share the latest technology and approaches from across the sector. The decisions we make now will shape the homes we build in the future, so continuing to learn, improve and share knowledge is essential.”

From housing delivery to construction quality

The Horizon Stage will look at the biggest issues affecting UK home building, from market performance, affordability and viability to housing delivery and the opportunities of the £39 billion Social and Affordable Homes Programme.

The Focus Stage will delve into practical solutions to common site challenges, helping teams improve build quality, enhance performance and get it right first time.

The Evolve Stage will look at consumer insight, customer care and homeowner expectations, as well as competence, including the skills, standards and professional requirements needed throughout the development lifecycle.

The fourth stage in partnership with the Future Homes Hub, will provide practical guidance on delivering low-carbon homes at scale.

Cassandra Codling, Senior Regional Director at NHBC, said: “From foundation to roof, BEYOND ’27 LIVE will cover every stage of home building, alongside some of the biggest challenges facing the industry, including sustainability, quality, customer satisfaction, innovation and NHBC Standards.

“It will give the sector a valuable opportunity to learn, discuss and network, sharing knowledge that can support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable homes across the UK.”

Bringing the future of homes to life

Alongside the conference programme, the Future Home Explorer, in partnership with Bellway and Smartroof, will bring low-carbon home building to life. A Bellway timber-frame house model will showcase technologies including heat pumps, underfloor heating, ventilation and insulation, while Smartroof will demonstrate good-practice roof ventilation alongside increased loft insulation depths.

There will also be a large trade exhibition, best-practice demonstrations and more opportunities to network, including the new Connections Hub.

Super Early Bird tickets are now available for a limited time. For more information and to register, visit www.nhbc.co.uk/beyond.
