The Future Homes Hub has unveiled the agenda and first wave of speakers for the Future Homes Conference 2026, with a programme focused on the practical action, partnerships and solutions needed to deliver more high-quality homes and places.
Taking place on Wednesday 2nd December at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster, delegates have until Wednesday 30th September to take advantage of Early Bird rates, saving £120 on member tickets and £200 on non-member tickets before standard prices apply.
This year’s conference comes at an important point for the sector. With the direction of travel increasingly clear, attention is turning to delivery – putting new standards into practice, enabling infrastructure, improving productivity and creating homes and places that perform for people over the long term.
The plenary programme will set the wider context for that delivery challenge, opening with a snapshot of the new homes sector before exploring the housing policy landscape and the levers and support needed across central and local government to deliver more high-quality, sustainable homes and places.
Later in the day, the focus will turn to placemaking and delivery, including a fireside discussion exploring how greater productivity in the planning system can support the consistent delivery of great developments. The closing plenary will look further ahead to 2050, asking whether the sector is building the right homes for the future and how homes can remain safe, comfortable and healthy in the face of a changing climate, demographics and lifestyles.
The first confirmed plenary speakers include Jennie Daly, Chair of the Future Homes Hub; Amy Rees, Chief Executive of Homes England; and Joanna Key, Director General, Regeneration, Housing and Planning at the MHCLG, with further speakers from government, industry and the wider housing sector to be announced over the coming weeks.

The focus now has to be on turning that ambition into delivery – and making sure the homes we build are high quality, affordable to run, resilient and supported by the infrastructure they need.
“This year’s conference is about getting into the practicalities of how we do that. From implementing the Future Homes Standard at scale and securing the infrastructure new development needs, to improving productivity, unlocking investment and creating great places, there is a huge amount happening across the sector.
“None of these challenges can be solved by one part of the sector alone. We want to bring the people who influence, finance, design and deliver new homes into the same room to share what is working, tackle what isn’t and focus on the practical solutions that can unlock delivery.”
Alongside the plenary programme, delegates can shape their day around eight specialist breakout sessions, focused on the areas where collaboration and practical action can make a real difference to delivery.
The programme will explore:
- New Homes Sector Transition Plan – the long-term roadmap for sustainable homes and places.
- Future Homes Standard Ready – taking the new standard from policy into practice, designing for customers and preparing for delivery at scale.
- Grid connections – navigating a changing electricity system and enabling the connections new development needs.
- Wastewater and water supply – working across sectors to provide the infrastructure needed to support housing growth.
- Valuation and lending – strengthening the link between better-performing homes, value, finance and the customer.
- Preparing for a changing climate – designing homes and places ready for hotter, drier summers and a changing climate.
- Design, placemaking and adoption – creating high-quality places that work for residents and deliver long-term value.
- Resource and construction efficiency – improving productivity and exploring practical approaches to delivering more with less.
Together, the sessions will move from policy and ambition to implementation and delivery, giving delegates the opportunity to hear what is changing, what is already working and where greater collaboration can accelerate progress.
