Leading energy company E.ON has secured places on four major procurement frameworks for public sector projects including the NHS Shared Business Services and Birmingham Buy For Good (BFG) agreements.
The frameworks are designed to provide energy efficiency and on-site generation solutions from pre-approved and qualified suppliers to the public health sector, local authorities and charity groups looking to reduce energy bills and lower their carbon footprint.
All successful framework partners had to go through a series of rigorous checks, with every aspect of service, experience and contract examined to ensure the best possible value.
Richard Scott, Head of Energy Efficiency at E.ON Connecting Energies, said: “The NHS faces a huge challenge to meet targets to cut its carbon footprint by 80% by 2050, and meeting that challenge will be difficult, especially in straitened financial times.
“I am delighted that E.ON is now a part of four of the major public sector frameworks, helping hospitals and other public bodies to meet sustainability targets, which can often be achieved by an Energy Performance Contract which brings guaranteed savings without the need for upfront investment.
“There is no ‘silver bullet’ to meeting carbon targets but measures already delivered by E.ON across the NHS have proved themselves successful in energy and financial terms.
“You can’t offer a basic package, it has to be about the service because no building, or how it is used, is the same. The key for customers is they are buying into a long-term relationship built on guaranteed success.”
Welcoming E.ON’s addition to the NHS SBS framework, Debbie Metcalfe, Senior Category Manager of NHS Shared Business Services said: “Working closely with trusts, we intend to make sure we have the best possible suppliers and processes in place to provide an efficient and effective way of procuring their maintenance services.
“Having E.ON on board, together with other strategic framework partners, means we can offer these market-leading services to the trusts, enabling them to secure comparative quotes for energy efficiency and on-site generation. We are confident that the companies we have brought on board will help us achieve this.”
