It’s wall-to-wall Mercedes-Benz at carpet supplier Contract Flooring Solutions – the Worcestershire company has just taken delivery of its 15th Sprinter van.
Bromsgrove-based Contract Flooring Solutions specialises in supplying and fitting carpets and cushioned vinyl floor coverings for new-build housing projects. It uses its Sprinters to deliver rolls of carpet, teams of fitters and all their tools to sites as far afield as South Wales and the North of England.
The latest addition to the fleet is a Sprinter 313CDI and was supplied, like its predecessors, by Kidderminster dealer Mudie-Bond. The Euro 5 Sprinter 313CDI is 15 per cent more fuel-efficient than the previous equivalent model, this equating to an extra 4.5 miles per gallon. CO2 emissions, meanwhile, are down by 13 per cent.
Contract Flooring Solutions Manager Stephen Day said: “We bought our first Sprinter seven years ago and it performed so well we’ve stuck with them ever since.
“Our vans are superbly reliable – in those seven years we’ve never once had to call for emergency rescue, although it’s comforting to know that Mercedes-Benz Service 24h round-the-clock breakdown cover is there should we ever need it.
“They are also well-liked by our carpet fitters, who appreciate the comfort and high level of standard safety equipment, as well as driver aids such as satellite navigation which we specify as options.
“Sprinters are very competitively priced too,” he continued. “We take advantage of the excellent finance packages available from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, because the rates are better than any we can get from our bank.”
And he added: “The main reason we keep coming back for more Sprinters, though, is the exceptional level of service from Mudie-Bond. The workshop team at Kidderminster look after us very well and are always ready to do a job at short notice or outside normal hours.
“We occasionally drop a van off very early in the morning, if it needs something small but important like a new light or mirror, and it’s invariably ready to go by the time our fitters start work. That kind of support from a dealer is priceless.”
Contract Flooring Solutions was originally an offshoot of Poplar Carpets, a retail business of some 55 years standing. Poplar Carpets still operates from its warehouse and showroom site in Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove.
