New engine to power JCB improvements at Plantworx

JCB’s fuel saving Ecomax engine – the company’s answer to EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 Interim compliance - will be the focus on the JCB stand at Plantworx.

It brings enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions to new excavator, telescopic handler and backhoe loader models.

The Ecomax engine – which meets the latest emissions standards without resorting to external exhaust after treatment or a diesel particulate filter (DPF) – is introduced across JCB’s world leading 3CX and 4CX backhoe range along with variable flow hydraulic pumps.

The machines benefit from fuel savings of up to 11% along with uprated backhoe slide performance, reduced daily checks, LiveLink connectivity for engine ECU data analysis, optional front shovel street pads and removable rear light guards.

The JS130 is one of three new mid-range tracked excavators equipped with the new Ecomax engine. In addition to fuel savings of up to 10% due to an advanced combustion system, it features: high efficiency hydraulic pumps and circuits , reduced noise levels and a customisable 10cm LCD monitor (18cm screen with rearview camera is available as an option).

The JCB Tool Select system allows the operator to pre-set attachment flow through the monitor. LiveLink connectivity shows fuel consumption, enhances security and enables remote fleet management.

Already the world’s number one telescopic handler manufacturer, JCB has used the introduction of its high torque, low emission Ecomax diesel engines to look at every aspect of its range.

Improvements include: 15% more torque and reduced fuel consumption of up to 10%, high back-off brakes on the 531-70, 541-70, 535-95 and 533-105 models, reduced transmission oil levels and a variable speed cooling fan on its most powerful models.

Further additions to the JCB Loadall range shown at Plantworx include the new JCB 540-200 – JCB’s first ever machine capable of lifting loads to 20 metres – and the introduction of new aerial work platforms for the JCB HiViz Loadall models.

JCB will also showcase its latest compact models on the stand including the 8018 and 8026CT mini excavators. The new 8018 CTS is a conventional tailswing model giving customers greater choice in the 1.5 tonne sector. It features more than 30 improvements for reduced cost of ownership and greater productivity, safety and comfort. These include a 52% increase in load holding capacity and an 11% increase in dig depth.

The 2.7 tonne JCB 8026 CTS joins the range alongside the zero tailswing 8025 ZTS, offering customers a choice of compact design and increased digging capacity.

The machine uses a dedicated boom and dipper arm, offering greater digging and lifting performance but with a14% efficiency gain.
