This breakthrough design, made entirely out of recycled PVC easily complies with the Accredited Construction Detail (ACD) minimum thermal resistance path of 0.45m2K/W without the need for costly additional insulation or supplementary polystyrene inserts. This is achieved by incorporating a clever and unique, high performance multi-chambered air pocket solution.
The design ensures optimum thermal performance at the key connection between the window and the PVC closer due to the multiple pockets of air in the closer, which prevents cold bridging and condensation issues.
As well as acting as a template for the bricklayer and a simple fixing solution for Sheerframe glazed windows, the cavity closer seals and insulates the cavity opening, providing a damp proof course around the window reveal.
Furthermore, the versatile design features a groundbreaking clip-in adapter mechanism to easily accommodate a greater selection of cavity widths.
The design, which allows for the cavity closer to increase in width of 25mm increments, is achieved by attaching the clever clip-in extension piece to the standard 100mm profile, ideal for builders working to the wider cavity widths required to meet the increasingly stringent building regulations.
The Sheerframe Cavity Closer also promotes ease of assembly by using a revolutionary corner moulding allowing closers to be assembled without the need to be welded. The Sheerframe Cavity Closer is also compatible for use with both flush and checked reveals by using the Sheerframe render reveal stop in conjunction with standard components, reducing stockholding and manufacturing costs.
