Revitaglaze restores windows in renovation project

The remodelling of a former stable block into a five property residential building has recently benefited from Revitaglaze’s specialist glass polishing service.

The derelict stable building, with a 600m2 internal floor area, has undergone substantial structural alterations and complete re-roofing, before being converted intoresidential dwellings.

As is common following any significant building work, the glazing required remediation. Main contractor Claude Fenton Construction turned to Revitaglaze.

Using specialist skills, deployed by highly trained operatives, Revitaglaze is one of the leading glass restoration companies in the UK.

Using a glass polishing system that Revitaglaze developed to minimise distortion and risk of damage, the windows, which were scratched externally and internally due to construction debris, were restored without the need to replace the glass. The Revitaglaze solution proved both rapid and effective, producing clear and distortion free windows, successfully retained the charming character of the late 19th Century building.

Revitaglaze glass polishing services, which can be used on both flat and curved glass, provides a cost-effective alternative for contractors otherwise put off by the cost of total glass replacement. Revitaglaze can undertake a full site audit to establish the extent of the damage and the work required, with a speedy solution to minimise disruption on site.

Geoff Turner from Claude Fenton, commented: “Having used Revitaglaze glass polishing services for previous projects we were more than familiar with the quick solution to remove scratches from glass. Revitaglaze’s highly skilled and experienced technicians restored the windows without the need to replace the glass and substantially lowered our overall costs.”

The renovation, which incorporated sustainable solutions into the design, combined the use of solar panels, air source heat pumps and low temperature under-floor heating.
