Designed with the classic forms of Georgian architecture in mind, Paridae House is a luxury residential property built by house builders AH Lyons and featuring Andersen Woodright windows and doors from Black Millwork.
Set in the picturesque village of Sunningdale, Berkshire, the established aesthetic standard was extremely high. Graham Lyons, manager and owner of AH Lyons, therefore required high quality fenestration that would complement the building’s elegant design.
“We build our properties to reflect enduring aesthetics with a modern twist and so the subtle, classic lines and high quality craftsmanship offered by Black Millwork certainly fits the bill,” explains Graham. “We chose the Andersen Woodright sash windows for Paridae House as they help achieve a timeless visual appeal and look really striking against the stonework flashings around the window openings.”
Graham specified Andersen’s 400 Series Woodwright® Double-Hung sliding sash windows throughout the property. In addition to their classic styling, the high performance windows also incorporate a number of modern technologies to offer excellent long-term benefits. All Andersen windows are manufactured using Low E-4 self-cleaning glass, which reduces water spots and requires little on going maintenance.
In addition to the stylish looks, all Andersen windows and doors deliver excellent energy performance. They feature an innovative Perma-shield system, which protects the exterior of a window for decades, eliminating the need to paint and resulting in significant financial savings. Other key features include optimum UV filtration and noise reduction - attractive benefits for upmarket properties.
As well as the 50 plus sliding sash windows, Graham specified six sets of Andersen 400 Series Frenchwood Hinged Patio Doors, creating access to the garden and flooding the property’s interior with light.
Graham continues: “Creating lots of natural light in a property definitely adds to the high quality feel and this is another reason why we chose to source the windows and doors from Black Millwork, as they were able to offer us a bespoke service. Some of the windows we have specified are more than 2.4 metres high and we knew we could rely on Black Millwork to produce these for us with no problems. We’ve used their products on six of our houses so far and we will certainly be using them again in the future.”
