Product overview
WALLTITE from BASF Polyurethanes UK Limited is a fast applied spray foam insulation system for internal walls, internal roofs and floors. Once cured, WALLTITE provides a seamless airtight structure, giving significantly lower U-values than many conventional alternatives.
BBA certified, the continuous spray leaves a minimal amount of surface area without insulation resulting in some cases, a 30% decrease in thermal transmission and an airtight building envelope of low permeability without the need for supplementary material.
WALLTITE is made thermally efficient courtesy of its closed cell structure which also helps control the movement of vapour and moisture throughout the building, reducing the risk of condensation and mould. It is extremely durable, does not deteriorate with age and therefore will perform at the same high level over the life of the structure. The long term energy efficiencies can therefore have a significant effect on reducing fuel bills.
WALLTITE® can be applied to almost any substrate with very little preparation required and no primer. Unlike conventional insulation materials, there is minimal waste to remove after installation and no requirement for storage on site. PU spray foams arrive in liquid form, unlike fibre insulation, which is bulky and needs a clean, dry area for storage. This make scheduling of work much easier and there are no concerns about multiple deliveries.
Alternatively WALLTITE CV100 cavity injection foam can be used to insulate between walls, providing permanent adhesion over the whole surface area of the walls. The use of injection foam overcomes the problems with wall tie failure, weak mortar joints and other structural problems. Expanding in-situ, the foam seals the cavity around window and door frames providing very effective draught proofing.
In order to ensure safe and accurate installation, WALLTITE can only be applied by fully trained and approved contractors who are members of the BASF FOAM MASTERS™
academy.
Cavity Walls
In existing cavity walls where wall ties have deteriorated WALLTITE CV100 is used to help improve the structural stability and reduce the thermal transmittance. It is also used in new construction where its superior thermal performance and resistance to flood water is of importance. Because of the greater thermal performance of PUR insulation and the reduced air leakage, WALLTITE outperforms all other forms of cavity fill. It is hypo-allergenic, containing no fibres and is formaldehyde free.
