Traditional good looks go hand in hand with high-tech locking thanks to a new finger-pull doorplate exclusive to Apeer Doors.
Designed to work with the Winkhaus AV2 Heritage multi-point locking system, the new Apeer escutcheon plate with finger hook further enhances the lock’s sympathetic reproduction as a period classic.
UK sales manager for Apeer, Pete Shears said: “The locking mechanism offers leading edge technology within a design that echoes the classic rimlatch lock. What we have done is develop a bespoke accessory that works with the lock for those who want the convenience of a finger pull for easier closing.
"It means people who want a composite front door with a truly traditional look – wood grain finish, no handles and simple lock - can now do so knowing it is also highly secure.”
Modern multi-point locking systems that provide higher levels of security and weather performance have not typically lent themselves to traditionally styled door furniture. Apeer has taken the Winkhaus AV2 Heritage locking system, which is used on its contemporary MODO range, and adapted its use for more traditional door designs.
It features a euro profile locking cylinder at a similar height to a traditional round cylinder pull and the lock is operated automatically as soon as the door is closed.
The lock can be deadlocked or opened externally by turning the key a quarter of a turn. From the inside the door can be opened by an internal thumb turn, again with a quarter turn. The door is automatically locked when closed from the inside and the key is then required to gain entry from the outside.
The new Apeer finger pull escutcheon is available now in silver and gold.
