CIC is launching a call for evidence to explore the critical question: "How can we build 1.5 million quality homes in this Parliament?".
This follows from the government’s ambitious housing targets to address the acute housing crisis in the UK, to include building 1.5 million new homes during this parliamentary term.
The target aims to boost housebuilding in areas most in need, with a focus on affordable and social housing.

The government has introduced mandatory housing targets for councils, ensuring that local authorities play a crucial role in meeting these goals. Additionally, Labour's plan includes reforms to the planning system to facilitate faster and more efficient construction processes.
This call for evidence aims to gather insights, strategies, and innovative solutions from industry experts, stakeholders, and the public in how we can fulfil the pressing need for quality housing.
CIC is particularly interested in evidence that addresses the following areas:
CIC invites submissions from all interested parties to be sent electronically to enquiries@cic.org.uk by 14 May 2025. The evidence should include examples of proven strategies and be no more than four pages in length.
