Ravago Building Solutions UK reveals new research on architects’ attitudes towards CCPI at Futurebuild 2026

Ravago Building Solutions, the UK’s original manufacturer of extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation, has released new independent research exploring UK architects’ opinions about the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) assessment. The findings show CCPI is helping rebuild trust in construction product manufacturers and how it is already influencing specification decisions.

The survey, conducted earlier this year among 100 UK architects, examined attitudes towards CCPI assessment. Key findings include:

  • 100% of architects surveyed said they would support mandatory CCPI assessment across manufacturers’ full product ranges.
  • 99% said they would be more likely to specify a product from a manufacturer that is CCPI assessed.
  • 99% said their level of trust in a manufacturer would increase if it was CCPI assessed.
  • Nine in 10 said CCPI assessment is either very important or essential for the construction industry.
  • 97% believe misleading or ambiguous product information remains a problem within the construction industry.
  • Almost all said CCPI assessment would help them feel more confident in the credibility of sustainability-related claims.

Respondents cited clearer and more accurate product information, stronger trust between manufacturers and architects, and higher standards across the supply chain as the main benefits.

The commercial implications were equally clear. Almost all respondents (99%) said they would be more likely to specify a product from a manufacturer that is CCPI assessed, while the same proportion said their level of trust in that manufacturer would increase. The data suggests that transparent, verified information is becoming a decisive factor in product selection.

The value architects place on trusted information is also reflected commercially. More than half of respondents said they would be somewhat willing to pay a premium for products from manufacturers that meet CCPI standards, while more than 40% said they would definitely be willing to do so. This demonstrates that verified compliance is increasingly seen not just as best practice, but as added value.

Earlier this year, Ravago Building Solutions UK became the first XPS manufacturer to be assessed as conforming with the CCPI for its entire Ravatherm XPS construction product range. While some manufacturers have achieved assessed status for individual products, Ravago is the first to secure recognition across its full XPS construction portfolio, underlining its commitment to providing comprehensive product information that surpasses the regulatory minimum.

Ravago’s research also indicates strong support for wider adoption of the assessment process. On average, respondents estimated that around one third of manufacturers do not always provide clear and accurate product information, while 97% believe misleading or ambiguous information remains a problem within the construction industry.

Sustainability was another key theme of the survey. Eight in 10 architects said sustainability is an important or essential factor when specifying products. However, around one third said they rarely trust sustainability claims made by manufacturers. Encouragingly, almost all respondents said CCPI assessment would help them feel more confident in the credibility of sustainability-related claims.

Joan Ferrer, Commercial Director UK & IRE at Ravago Building Solutions UK, said: “These findings show that architects place great value in transparency, accuracy and accountability from manufacturers. Trust has become a critical factor in specification decisions, and independent assessment through CCPI gives specifiers much-needed confidence that the information they are relying on is clear, credible and robust.

“We became the first XPS manufacturer to achieve assessed status across our full Ravatherm XPS range because we believe higher standards and clearer product information benefit the entire industry. We would encourage all manufacturers to engage with the CCPI process and help drive the culture of openness, responsibility and trust that construction not just expects but desperately needs.”

Ravago Building Solutions UK is exhibiting at Futurebuild (12-14 May) at Excel London. Those interested in meeting the team and learning more about its journey to achieving CCPI assessment can visit stand J86 on the Green Roof Organisation (GRO) Pavilion.
