EQUITONE [tectiva] fibre cement facade material has been used to provide a modern finish to a world-class research facility in Liverpool.
The Liverpool Life Sciences Accelerator is part of a £25m scheme that provides flexible working spaces and state-of-the-art research laboratories for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital Trust and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

As well as being a collaborative workspace, the building boasts a ‘very good’ BREEAM environmental rating. The use of EQUITONE [tectiva] has helped to support the vision of a design space that encourages innovative thinking across the health and research industries.
The new facility was designed by global architects IBI group, which has previously specified EQUITONE materials on a range of other projects. The architect specified EQUITONE [tectiva] in shades that provide a contemporary, organic feel to the project.
EQUITONE is flexible and makes it easy to create distinctive, beautiful designs that are durable and will last for decades.
Aside from creating a unique aesthetic to the 6,500m² facility, all EQUITONE [tectiva] panels boast a fire classification rating of A2-s1,d0, as well as contributing to its environmentally friendly building design.
The panels produce no harmful emissions and are resistant to many chemicals, making them the perfect fit for creating a more sustainable space.

The latest manufacturing technology and techniques in off-site construction were utilised during the project. EQUITONE [tectiva] panels were installed to a full hook-on system design prior to them arriving on site. This method allowed the panels to effortlessly hang and fix the rainscreen as the hard work was done in advance.
EQUITONE [tectiva] displays fine sanded lines and naturally occurring hues within the material, making each panel unique in colour, texture and surface. All EQUITONE materials are available in a range of shades, finishes and fixing options, offering full creative scope.
