Cosentino has supplied Dekton® surfaces for the façade at Lighthaus Liverpool, as well as the shared spaces

Customisable Dekton® Edora was specified for the façades, while Dekton® Taga brings a distinctive finish to the external lift surround.

The materials combine design versatility with the technical performance required for high-traffic residential environments.

Lighthaus Liverpool brings a contemporary approach to city living, with carefully considered shared spaces designed to create a strong and welcoming first impression for residents and visitors. To help realise this vision, Cosentino supplied high-performance Dekton® surfaces throughout the building’s common areas, including its façades and lift surround.

Lighthaus is a landmark 31-storey residential development at Princes Dock, Liverpool Waters, designed by Falconer Chester Hall for Starlight Investments and delivered by Vermont Construction. The tower comprises 278 studio, one, two and three-bedroom rental apartments, alongside a suite of resident amenities including a Sky Bar and Lounge, private dining, fitness and co-working spaces, rooftop terrace, resident lounge and 24-hour concierge. Set on Liverpool’s historic waterfront, Lighthaus combines contemporary rental living with views across the River Mersey and immediate access to the city centre and docklands.

Falconer Chester Hall (FCH), working from its Liverpool office, specified Dekton® for key elements of Lighthaus’s shared spaces. The practice selected bespoke Dekton® ID for the building façade, supporting the project’s distinctive architectural expression, and Dekton® Taga for the lift surround on the ground floor, introducing a sophisticated, durable finish to a high-traffic setting.

This Starlight Investments community was developed in partnership with X1 and delivered by main contractor Vermont, with RGB Facades appointed as façade contractor. The collaboration brought together a tailored material palette that responds to the development’s prominent waterfront setting while providing the lasting performance required in a contemporary build-to-rent community.

For the external façade, the project specified Dekton® Edora, part of the Natura collection, it is a warm grey, minimalist and neutral surface. This allowed the façade surface to form an integral part of the development’s architectural identity, bringing together visual impact, material performance and design freedom in a tailored exterior solution.

Dekton® is an ultracompact surface engineered for demanding architectural applications. Its resistance to UV rays, scratches, stains, heat and thermal shock, together with its very low water absorption, makes it especially well-suited to exterior cladding. The material’s large-format offering also supports a clean, contemporary façade aesthetic with fewer visible joints and reduced maintenance requirements over time.

Inside the building, Dekton® Taga was selected for the common areas, including the reception desk, shared dining area and the external wall surround of the ground-floor lift. With its characterful and expressive appearance, Taga creates a refined focal point within a high-use communal area, contributing to a cohesive and elevated resident experience. In an environment subject to regular daily traffic, Dekton® offers a practical, durable surface while retaining its visual appeal.

By combining bespoke Dekton® Edora surfaces externally with the distinctive finish of Dekton® Taga internally, Lighthaus Liverpool demonstrates how material innovation can support both architectural expression and the everyday demands of modern residential living.

“Our vision for Lighthaus was to elevate a prominent new landmark for the Liverpool waterfront, one that prioritises both aesthetics and longevity. The communal spaces are the heart of this community, and we wanted every touchpoint, from the first glimpse of the exterior to the journey up the tower, to feel premium and meticulously crafted.

Dekton® was already central to that ambition: the façades feature Dekton® Edora, giving the building a clean and minimalist architectural signature from the outset. Building on that, the strategic decision was made to clad the ground-floor lift externally in Dekton® Taga, extending that same high-performance, natural stone aesthetic down to street level. These surfaces ensure that Lighthaus remains as striking and durable in the years to come as it is on opening day.” says Starlight Investments UK Residential.
