Future Homes Hub unveils expert speaker line-up for major Future Homes Standard Technical Conferences

With the Future Homes Standard now in force, the housing sector is rapidly shifting from preparation to implementation - and the pressure is on for technical teams to translate regulation into practical delivery.

To support the industry through that transition, the Future Homes Hub is hosting two dedicated Future Homes Standard Technical Conferences this June, bringing together technical leaders, homebuilders, manufacturers, consultants and energy specialists to explore the real-world implications of the new requirements.

Taking place at Leeds Beckett University on 9th June and Central Hall Westminster on 17th June, the conferences are designed as highly practical forums focused on delivery, compliance and implementation, helping technical and delivery teams sense-check emerging approaches, identify risks and learn from peers across the sector.

The timing is significant. The arrival of the Future Homes Standard marks one of the biggest changes to new homes delivery in a generation, with major implications for fabric performance, heating systems, ventilation, energy modelling, grid demand and on-site generation.

As David Adams, Strategic Advisor at the Future Homes Hub, recently noted: “The focus has shifted from what might come to how we make it work well. Certainty matters. With the framework now confirmed, developers, designers and manufacturers can plan with confidence. Investment decisions can be unlocked, supply chains mobilised, and delivery teams aligned around a shared direction of travel.”

The conferences will focus firmly on that challenge, moving beyond theory and into the practical realities of delivery.

Sessions across both venues will explore SAP10.3 and fabric strategies, PV requirements and design responses, heat pump systems, ventilation installation and commissioning, grid and demand flexibility, heat networks and lessons emerging from early implementation projects.

A strong speaker line-up from across the sector has already been confirmed with more to be announced soon.

Leeds speakers include Kelly Butler from BEAMA, Sean Hall from Bellway Homes, Nick Houghton-Best from Daikin, Claire Enstone from Eco2Solar (part of E.ON Next), Olivia Greenhalgh from First Choice Homes, Ben Cheetham from Gleeson, Peter McBride from Mixergy, Jerry Gorman from NIBE, Deborah Haynes from Ox Place, Jack Brayshaw from Vistry, and Mark Lufkin from Wondrwall.

London contributors include Dan Hastings from Barratt Redrow, Swetta Coopmah from BEAMA, Ryan Mee from Eco2Solar (part of E.ON Next), Craig Dolan from Glen Dimplex, Rory Bergin from HTA Design, Tom Dollard from Pollard Thomas Edwards, Clifford Elwell from University College London, Graeme Smith from Untypical, Youssef Safadi from Wallace Whittle, and Max Becker from Wates.

Nicola Kennedy of E.ON Next - sponsor of the FHS Technical Conferences - said: “The Future Homes Standard represents a major opportunity to improve building performance and support the transition to low-carbon living, but implementation will require collaboration and practical problem-solving across the sector. Events like this are vital for sharing learning, building confidence and helping the industry move forward together.”

Alongside the conference programme, an exhibition will showcase the latest technologies, products and services supporting delivery of the Future Homes Standard, with manufacturers and suppliers integrated into networking and discussion areas throughout the day.

The conferences are aimed at technical directors, construction directors, design managers, sustainability leads, architects, M&E consultants, assessors, manufacturers and wider delivery teams involved in the design and construction of new homes.
